Beginning in 1974 Santa Dick first appeared at the local 5 and 10 store in downtown Covington. Then in
1977 Santa Dick began appearing in the annual Covington Christmas parade. Below are some of the
early newspaper articles and photos showing Santa's arrival in Covington and various venues. In the
early years a designer beard was used, 2009 will be the first year of using my natural white beard.
